Celebrating Crimestoppers’ 30th anniversary
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Crime Stoppers they have launched a series of ‘CommuniTea’ events in Scotland.

Communities are at the heart of Crimestoppers and we value their support in helping to make Scotland a safer place to live. In Scotland alone, 15,718 pieces of actionable information were received by Crimestoppers in the year 2017/18, a 17% increase on the previous financial year.

Geraldine El Masrour, Centre Manager of Motherwell Shopping Centre said:

“Motherwell Shopping Centre is proud to support Crimestoppers Scotland and the brilliant ‘CommuniTea’ event is being held here on Friday 26th October at 11am in Motherwell Shopping Centre. Crime Stoppers Scotland, the local Police and Scottish Business Resilience help to ensure our Centre is safe and welcoming. Many stores are supporting us such as Greggs, Cancer Research, Sallys, Bon Marche to make our tea event a great success. Please come along for a cuppa and a chat to find out about how you can speak up about crime, 100% anonymously.
from 11am to 12 noon ”

Ash Denham Minister for Community Safety said “Scotland continues to be a safe place to live with recorded crime at its lowest level for 44 years. The Scottish Government’s vision is of a safe, just and resilient country where people can live their lives safe from harm.

“Crimestoppers provides a vital service and these Communitea events are an excellent way to build support for the organisation and increase public awareness of how it can help make Scotland’s communities safer.

“Crimestoppers’ contribution to reducing crime over the past 30 years has been invaluable and I would like to congratulate them on their anniversary.”
