Smooth move as bike gets juices going
Summer fun was on the agenda when Motherwell Shopping Centre hosted a series of free events for little kids -and big ones too!
Shoppers were given the chance to blend up their own smoothies when a bike took up residence in the Centre.
Using pedal power alone, the bike produced delicious smoothies in a blender attached at the front of the handles.
Centre Manager Geraldine El Masrour said “We have celebrated the Commonwealth Games with free events such as live music, singing, dancing, theatre and our free fruit smoothies. Customers of all ages enjoyed their free smoothie in the sun and for those who did not want to pedal we had helpers to pedal for them.”
The smoothie day was followed by a Back to School event, at which the little ones were offered the chance to take part in a variety of activities. There was also a prize draw with Lynsay McAulay of Motherwell and Derek McLean from Wishaw each winning a school bag worth £200, filled with Dr Dre headphones, stationary and a calculator.
Geraldine added “We handed out 500 free pencil cases with rubbers, rulers and pencils during our back to school event. The children really loved our outdoor garden with free craft work shops while Mum or Dad shopped. The customers said they loved the free events we have been running over the Summer holidays”
